As part of the fund raising effort for the construction of the Memorial, the Hauppauge Fire Department began selling engraved paving bricks. These permanent memorials have been purchased by individuals for family members and friends. The pavers represent a permanent remembrance of a loved one.

The Hauppauge Fire Department is still selling engraved bricks in order to raise money for the operating fund of the Memorial. Recently, the Committee contracted for the construction of two brick towers that represent the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center (see photo below). Each of these towers is equipped with custom designed, high powered LED lighting units. Each unit sends a powerful beam of blue light into the night sky.

Future improvements call for the possible addition of benches or other markers to commemorate those members of the Department who have died as a result of 9/11 illness.
